hot springs retreat @ sg klah
|
|
the best part of being "young and 19" :-D is the opportunity to go for vacation with like-minded friends, where u can be u, no holds barred. :satisfied_nod:
last weekend, with me being the main coordinator (nak gak take credit. hihihii), 8 of us - we took the liberty of calling ourselves HOT SPRINGS BABES; jgn marrahh... :groucho: - managed to escape from our weekday prisons for a weekend getaway at totally cool hot spring (oouuhhh i love these contradicting adjectives!) at sg klah, sungkai, perak.
me, tirah, ban, ed, peroz, syura, mazyah, odeng - thats 8. we were divided into 2 teams; the first 4 were Team A (riding tirah's civic ferio) while the last 4 became Team B (riding peroz's civic coupe). since odeng had a training in the morning, team B had to wait for odeng while team A went ahead to get ourselves checked in.
so where did we stay?
at the Felda Residence Hot Springs, located right smack in the middle of Sg Klah Felda settlement. luckily no mosquities flying around at night.. uhuhuhu.. :->
free advertising for 'em: http://www.plantationresorts.com.my/HotSprings/index_ap.shtml - book early to avoid disappointment!
it was a less than 2 hours drive away from shah alam, team A's rendezvous point. we arrived at sg klah just well before noon. check-in time was at 2pm, so to kill time, we decided to go to the spa for a massage. they had a promotion ongoing: a 1 hour session of traditional malay massage at only RM65. who would want to miss that??
- ban after a massage at the spa -
i have to laud the services rendered by the staff at the felda residence - they were amazingly responsive. ed was not feeling quite well when we reached the place, so i requested to have an early check in. they responded well to my request so we got ourselves checked in to our 2-bedroom villa, which i booked a month in advance, more than 30 minutes earlier than expected. :horay:
guess what was the first thing that we saw :omg_no: - oh rasa nak pengsan! - our very own private hot spring jacuzzi!!
- the first sight that greeted us: ROTENBURO!! -
we were physically jumping for joy, and "waaaaa!!!"-ing when we checked every corner, interior and exterior, of the villa. besides the jacuzzi, there was a gazebo complete with an electric fan in a balinese garden setting, a cozy living room and a fully equipped kitchen, a vast master bedroom with a massive bath tub, an almost equally big second bedroom complete with a hot shower. our villa was at the end of the road, so secluded, our privacy ensured. the villa was very impressive, but u wont see the pics of the rooms in their glorious state because as soon as we set foot inside the villa, we put down all the stuff that we brought at whatever available surface we caught sight on, grabbed our towels and jumped straight into the jacuzzi! x menyempat nyempat. sorry folks, no pics of us skinny dipping here though. hehehehe :-D
team B arrived just before asar. by this time, i was already wrapped in my towel, resting on the couch, feeling a bit giddy from the rush of blood to my head. kekekeke.. over excited. jakun masuk onsen.. kakakakaka..
- tv watching after skinny dipping -
it rained heavily in the evening so we had to haul ourselves out of the pool. and since astro never works in ugly weather, we settled ourselves indoor and had a round of saidina, the local version of monopoly. at the beginning of the game, i was the first to go on a land-buying spree and soon, i ran out of saidina cash. that prompted tirah to remark, "macam ni lah jugak alia dlm kehidupan sebenar.." hahahaha.. correct correct. ban was the banker. the results? odeng 1st place, mazyah 2nd, me 3rd, syura last. kekekekeke. at least i wasnt at the last place. huhuhuhuhu.. :laugh_at: aaaa memang macam dlm kehidupan sebenar..
- a round of saidina -
while waiting for maghrib to pass, it was time to prepare for dinner. actually we were thinking of having a barbecue in the villa, but a quick phone call to the resort told us that we were not allowed to have it there, instead they offered the guests' lounge, which of course we declined. we'd rather have maggi goreng instead, as long as we have the privacy of the villa. heheheh..
- giler banyak food! enough to feed an army! -
of coz lah, maggi goreng was not the only menu we came up with. we also had grilled sausages & burgers, many types of spaghetti, salad, fruit cocktails for dessert, and also, bags and bags of junk food.
tummy full, we had another dip in the jacuzzi, totally at our own leisure.
- another one of our night activities -
the next morning, we woke up just in time for subuh prayer, having stayed up late chatting the night away. well. i thought me and peroz (we opted to sleep in front of the tv together with odeng in the living room) were the last to snore, until ban who was sleeping in the master bedroom came out and complained of some bats racing outside the window. aa spooky. dunno whether they were really bats though.. but then again, we were in the middle of a felda jungle. anything was possible. :scared: :hiding:
the other reason for waking up early (for a sunday, it was wayyyy too early) was because we didnt want to miss our last hours in this little secluded heaven of ours. food was still aplenty so we didnt use our breakfast coupons. after a very filling breakfast of egg sandwiches, sausages, corn soup and tuna spaghetti, odeng, syura & mazyah chose to check out the public pools which was like a 3 minutes walking distance from the villa, while the rest of us opted to gossip in our own hot spring jacuzzi tub.
- milik siapakah gadis ini.... -
the check out time was at 12. it was time to leave our private heaven. :hopeless: as we still had many (chickens' ya :crazy_drunk: ) eggs left, we decided to join the crowd and checked out the egg boiling activity area.
- ban, me, mazyah & peroz -
my! what a crowd. this place is sure a very popular vacation spot among the locals. in fact, despite sg klah being in perak, i noticed that the majority of the cars parked at the parking place bear the KL & selangor plates. i was glad we took up the villa, instead of other type of accommodation, because that meant we didnt have to leave the vicinity of the villa to enjoy the hot water from the thermal springs - we could have it right in our own backyard! :cloud9:
- boiling instructions -
mazyah, syura & odeng were in charge of boiling the eggs. they meant to get them half boiled by following the instructions on boiling time, but i guess, we all got too absorbed in our photo taking that when odeng went to retrieve the eggs, they were all hard boiled.
- boiling our (chickens' ya :crazy_drunk: ) eggs in the hot spring -
i prefer hard boiled eggs anyway. :egg:
- our hot spring hard boiled eggs -
- group pic: the 8 of us. tirah, odeng, mazyah, ed, me, peroz, syura, ban -
- not in the pic: ed -
and then it was finally the time to leave sg klah. but before that, someone suggested that we go get some ice cream, and we did, at the food court near to the egg boiling area.
- one round of ice cream after one round of hot spring eggs -
we were savoring our ice cream when mazyah exclaimed:" weh melodi weh!" so we hurried to the sitting area in the food court and glued our eyes to the tv. it was showing the drama of local celebs norman hakim & abby abadi's marital problems, which is currently buzzing around the entertainment scene. it was said that another woman in the form of an obscure (she was an unknown, well at least to us, prior to this debacle) starlet called memey was the cause of the tiff, if i may call it that since abby's filing for a divorce. but thats another story.
- all eyes on the tv watching the norman-abby-memey saga on MELODI -
we only got moving when the show ended, but not before we wholeheartedly agreed that memey was a b**** and the name itself had a very negative connotation. eyy nak sebut pon geli. hahahahahaha.
- lets get our heavy butts home.. -
team A and team B were supposed to part ways at the car park since both tirah and peroz said that our highway exits were different. but somehow, i guess we couldnt get enough of the time spent being together ;-), so much so we ended up drinking hot tea and eating a few sticks of satay, and laughing our hearts out at one of the guthrie highway's rest areas as we were approaching shah alam. we only left the place out of irritation when someone (who was very very rude indeed) shushed us. how very annoying! not like we kacau anybody.. :yakk:
